PR Pilot is now Open Source

After making PR Pilot free for open source developers and talking to the community, I came to the conclusion that making the project itself open source is the only way for it to become successful.

Why go open source?

Drink your own Champagne

In order to truly convince Github users that PR Pilot can speed up their workflows, I feel that small sample projects aren’t going to cut it. PR Pilot itself should be THE showcase that demonstrates its capabilities to the fullest.

Transparency & Security

PR Pilot works with your code and I’ve heard valid concerns about security and questions about how the bot handles your code in the backend. Making it open source provides users with the transparency they want and deserve.

The Github Community

After all, this is a tool aimed at serving the Github community. Not publishing the source code felt almost hypocritical. Github users should be encouraged to shape PR Pilot into a tool that works for them. I’m looking forward to your feedback and contributions!
